Luck.

Today we celebrated the bride-to-be in our family. It was fun to see all gifts that will help her build her life with her husband someday soon. I am really excited for the wedding, and to watch her catapult from girl to woman in a matter of about 30 minutes! We wish them luck!

And...in unrelated news, I am really missing the Copper Country today. My heart is aching to be there.

30 minutes?! I take it you're referring to the time it takes them to go through the ceremony then? If so, hurrah - I am still a girl. ;-)

I'm sorry you're missing the U.P.

Yes, you know that quick ceremony, FALC style. I love it! A few years ago I was invitited to a wedding at the Bascilica here in Minneapolis. I had to work (Saturdays are busy days for hairdressers), but decided to see if I could catch the last minute of the ceremony. There was still 45 minutes of good Catholic wedding action.

well .. if the ceremony marks the transition from girlhood to womanhood, perhaps that is appropriate. I think I've been in transition for about 15 years now, so 30 minutes seems rather short. ;-)
