quickie
Our girl is 7 months now. Two teeth and already swiping pizza off of Theo's plate.I made pancakes with 1 c. white flour, 1/2 c. grahm flour, and 1/2 c. milled flax seed. Guess what little boy at something semi-healthy! He was about to help himself to a stack.
Also, one of my clients told me she makes a lot of cakes at once, since it is so time consuming, and freezes the extra. I have done this twice now, and warm the pancakes in the toaster. She uses her microwave, but it seems like I depend too much on the quickie system. The toaster doesn't take long, and they come out perfect!

clear a path.
I've been feeling wordless lately. Too many emotions pushing considerations right out of my head. Well, I am back, baby.
We all know that I am pretty much ga-ga for the Hubbinator. Here is another reason why I like him so well: He cleans this place up! Clutter was mounting (along with the stress of) the last 2 weeks. When I got home from work last night the dining room, kitchen, and living room were clear of clutter. (In the morning I discovered the basement has also been touched by his super powers.) He creates very little of the clutter, so its that much more exciting when he removes it. I really have no idea where he put my junk, but it'll turn up sometime. Right now I am just enjoying being able to waltz around the house. Fully clothed, thank you very much.
And its a good thing I wear clothes, because this morning as I was reaching up from the bathroom sink for a towel to dry my face, I saw a stranger looking in the living room window. Wouldn't you be alarmed? He looked away immediately, but I just chuckled to myself and put my hoodie on as I walked towards the front door. We were expecting the Appraiser this morning. Just didn't expect him to see me while I was washing up in the bathroom. With the babers, I don't usually close the door if I am in the WC because they get a little wound up if they can't see me for 45 seconds.
This photo was intended to illustrate the clutter free table. The pumpkin is from my sister Katie. Theo woke from his nap while I was shooting the pumpkin, so I put him on the table to create some adorable factor. "Look at the pumpkin, Theo. Touch the pumpkin, Buddy." He started to growl at me. Then I realized he didn't know what a pumpkin is. I introduced him to the pumpkin and his response improved. Silly mommy.
As I am typing, Theo is sitting to my right on the couch. I could hear the crunchy, plastic noise of the diaper wipes, but it didn't raise any flags initially. When I glanced over it was because I saw him drop something over the armrest. Wipes. Maybe 20. I was not tuned in. And he knew he wouldn't get in trouble. When I caught him with a gasp, he grinned and we both started laughing. Busted

grace
under fire.
i am trying to humble myself
lay down my sword
some people post signs in their window and on their bumper to
pray for peace.
there is a war going on between my ears
pray for peace
grace
and charity
posted on my forehead.
Love thy neighbor.
i have been praying for
piece.
yeah, i want to give a certain somebody a
piece of my mind.
so now i am honestly going to
pray for peace
a quiet and grateful heart
and grace in wisdom to teach and lead and to
Love my neighbor.
Amen.

something new
This morning after her bottle, I discovered Suvi has her first tooth! It is amazing how these natural processes can be so thrilling. A couple of days ago we were feeling equally impressed that Theo knew all the character names in his new book, after just a few times through. These children are beautiful and wonderous, yet there are times when I think I am going to loose my ever-lovin' mind!
I just don't understand how my darling boy can be so ornery, greeting me for the day with first his endearing "Hello" and then a swift kick to my face. Shocking to say the least. "Mommeee," with some deep gutteral tones. He and I ate our oatmeal together, and we are both much improved. Aside from the yelling match which is going on behind me. Suvi must be working on a second tooth!

Shh. I'm thinking.

Everybody is sleeping, and its not even 10 o'clock. My husband has arranged for a babysitter to watch our precious babes tomorrow. He has a cold and fell asleep on the couch at 9:15. Will we have to cancel the sitter?
Reconnecting with friends created a sentimental rush of gooey ideas when I started blogging. People sort of dropped back in to my consciousness, and I was truly excited and happy to pick up on those threads. Now there is the realization that being allowed a glimpse into your day by reading your blog, or looking at your photos in another arena, illustrates how removed we are from each other. This is without qualification or judgement. I really don't know what has happened for you in the past 8 or 10 years, besides the big milestones like moving, marrying, or becoming a parent. Where did we leave off? Why did that happen, growing apart? Is the distance the glue, the buffer, or simply the consequence of proximity, both time and place? How is it that we became friends those years ago? Some of the ties that were broken coincided with great change in my life. I wonder now, what were your changes, and how do the growth, reflection, maturation, fear, confidence, sorrow, joy translate? What I would really like to know is, How are you, my long lost friend? Oh, and do you drink coffee? I didn't then, you know.
